Meet the team
Dr. Natasha Kassell, DMV
Dr. Kassell received her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1994. She then practiced conventional small animal medicine in Gig Harbor, Washington. Although she loved being a vet, she found herself frustrated by what she could offer her patients with conventional medicine alone. When she learned of a year-long course for veterinarians in nutrition and homeopathy, she jumped at the opportunity to take it.
The experience transformed her veterinary practice — and her life. After completing the course, Dr. Kassell opened a small animal holistic house-call practice in Gig Harbor, specializing in preventive health care and homeopathy for dogs and cats.
In 2002, Dr. Kassell returned to Philadelphia with her family and opened a similar holistic veterinary house-call practice in Mt. Airy. Since that time, her practice has evolved from a holistic consultation practice to an integrative primary care practice, which she finds incredibly rewarding. Dr. Kassell is thrilled to serve the people and pets of metropolitan-area Philadelphia.
Philosophy of care
Dr. Kassell strives to provide top quality veterinary care for dogs and cats–from puppy- and kitten-hood through the “golden” years — in the comfort of their favorite environment, their own homes!
She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Multicultural Veterinary Medical Association (MCVMA), and PAVED (Penn Alumni Veterinarians for Equity and Diversity).
Laura Lally, Certified Veterinary Technician/Veterinary Nurse
Laura believes that everything happens for a reason. She was a dance major in college, until she had a career-ending injury. Then she followed her passion and love for animals, and became a Certified Veterinary Technician, aka Veterinary Nurse. She has now been a Veterinary Nurse for 19 years. Laura has spent most of her career in specialty hospitals working in Anesthesia and Surgery. She loves going to work every day and helping in any way she can. She also loves teaching newbies to the field and is always looking to learn more to expand her knowledge. Laura says, “I love the homey-ness and family-ness that Dr. Kassell brings to her patients. Working with Dr. Kassell gives me a different appreciation for the love I have for my work.”
Laura is a single mom raising her son Brody to love and respect all animals. Laura and Brody have a dog named Pickles, two cats, Fae and Kermit, and two rats named Bartleby and Window. Yup, his name his Window.
Zoe Kassell Osborne
Zoe is House Call Vet Philly’s part-time veterinary assistant and social media manager. As Dr. Kassell’s daughter, she may be a nepotism hire, but she also brings over 15 years of experience to the job: Zoe has been helping out with the practice since she was nine years old. Her vet resume includes assisting with nutrition workshops, holding dogs and cats for blood draws and vaccines, running heartworm/Lyme disease tests, and trimming many, many kitty claws. Zoe is a big fan of all animals, especially large, silly dogs and any cat who will let her pat it. Zoe says, “My favorite part of working for House Call Vet Philly is getting to meet Dr. Kassell’s clients and their wonderful pets!” In her free time, Zoe works a 9-5 at the University of Pennsylvania.
